We have some major product announcements we’d like to introduce, including our first testnet, which gives you the opportunity to be one of the first to start mining Wicrypt Network Tokens, or $WNT! If there’s anything you’ve learned by now in investing and cryptocurrency, “early bird catches the worm.” First, here’s all you should know about Wicrypt.

Wicrypt is a decentralized mobile internet sharing and monetization network. Wicrypt has created a smart Wi-Fi network infrastructure that runs on a decentralized network of micro-nodes powered by the Wicrypt Operating System, giving anyone the power to act as a micro internet service provider. Our protocol allows anyone to share their WiFi with others & get paid for doing it!

Wicrypt Hotspot hosts are able to mine $WNT (Wicrypt Network Token) when sharing their WiFi. Connecting clients are also able to mine a small amount of $WNT when connected to a Wicrypt host network. Our protocol is nested with a decentralized storage network making use of devices as micro-nodes.

WICRYPT OUTLIERS

Wicrypt Outliers represent a community of device holders with a singular vision of empowerment of humankind through the provision of the infrastructure for high-speed-internet and connectivity.
The Wicrypt Outliers are owners of our devices which are represented in the metaverse via our Outlier NFT. Our Outlier NFT is the proof of ownership of our device in the metaverse.

NFT MINTING PAGE

The Wicrypt NFT project runs on the Polygon network. For the Testnet version of the minting page, the smart contracts have been deployed to the Polygon testnet. If you’re going to be purchasing the devices from the testnet mining page, then there are a couple of settings that need to be applied to your MetaMask wallet.

NOTE: If your MetaMask wallet has already been configured to interact with the Polygon testnet network, then you can skip the “Configuring MetaMask” section below.

CONFIGURING METAMASK

Add a new network on your MetaMask settings page with the following values

GETTING TEST TOKENS

The Wicrypt Outlier NFTs will be purchased with stable tokens. To get the stable tokens you would need to visit the Polygon faucet and request for the Test tokens that would be used to purchase our devices. You can request for DERC20 tokens which would be used in the purchase of our devices as well as MATIC tokens which would be used in paying for transaction fees.
To get the DERC20 tokens, select Test ERC20 (PoS) from the token dropdown.

MINTING THE OUTLIER NFT

The easiest way to access our NFT from the mint page is our NFT minting page. Minting a device is as simple as A, B, C, and D

A. Connect your crypto wallet via MetaMask or WalletConnect by clicking on the “Connect Wallet” button at the top right corner of the mining page

B. Select the device type from the two available options, “Lynx” or Spider, and enter how many of the devices you would be minting

C. Approve the amount of tokens you would like to spend for the device purchase activity

D. Mint the device(s) selected

After Minting, What Next?

Minting our Outlier NFT devices is the first step into Wicrypt Network. From here on out it is a world of unlimited possibilities.

But what can I do with my minted device(s), you ask? Well we have been working on the Wicrypt Explorer for a while now and it is the go-to platform for visualizations about every single activity happening on our network.

In line with the ethos of the blockchain around open, trustless and decentralization the Wicrypt Explorer aims to provide as much information about any and every activity that takes place on the Wicrypt network

WICRYPT EXPLORER

The Wicrypt Explorer is a tool built for the Wicrypt community that offers information about metrics, statistics, and activities carried out on the Wicrypt network.

The Wicrypt community can have a bird’s-eye view into the location and region where each Wicrypt device is located via the GPS coordinate system built into the devices.

WICRYPT EXPLORER (DEVICES)

With the Wicrypt Explorer, it is easy to see information about every device on the network as well as crucial information about those devices such as:

  • GPS coordinates of our devices
  • How many countries / cities we currently have our devices deployed
  • Percentage of devices that are online at any given time
  • Latest devices that have been minted
  • Cities where a Wicrypt device has been deployed
  • An inventory of devices that have been created on an Outliers account
  • Simulate a connection to your device [Testnet Feature]

WICRYPT EXPLORER (BLOCKS AND TRANSACTIONS)

Transactions on the Wicrypt network are snapshots of connections on devices over the lifetime of that connection. Transactions are mined by nodes on the Wicrypt Oracle network. Transactions are picked up and an algorithm is run for all transactions in order to ensure the authenticity and validity of the transactions. Transactions that are certified to be valid are added to a block before they are mined.

The Wicrypt Explorer displays information such as the number of blocks that have been mined so far by the network as well as the average block time. Data about mined transactions are utilized in updating the device information around total number of connections as well as the total data usage.

Wicrypt Explorer (OUTLIERS)

Device holders on the Wicrypt network are referred to as Outliers. The Outliers are a group of visionaries powering the decentralized web by providing high-speed internet connections to their communities utilizing the Wicrypt network. It would not be far fetched to refer to them as the Titans of the decentralized world.

From the Wicrypt Explorer, we can find information about these Outliers such as the number of devices they have deployed and how many of these devices are online, providing much needed data infrastructure to their communities.

IPFS AS A STORAGE LAYER FOR THE WICRYPT NETWORK

Conforming to the ethos of the decentralized web, we have built a metadata ingestion pipeline that synchronizes off-chain device data on-chain. We utilize a deterministic system that ensures that the device information on-chain is always reflective of the current state of the device off-chain. When blocks are mined on the Wicrypt network, the information about the devices that constitute the transactions for that block are also updated on IPFS.
